Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب البيوع باب ما جاء فى البيعين بالخيار ما لم يتفرقا

حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الْكُوفِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا أَوْ يَخْتَارَا. قَالَ فَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا ابْتَاعَ بَيْعًا وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ قَامَ لِيَجِبَ لَهُ الْبَيْعُ.
The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Both the buyer and the seller have the option [to complete the sale or rescind it], as long as they have not yet parted ways nor finalized the sale." When Ibn-'Umar bought something while sitting down, he would stand up in order to confirm his purchase (1).
(1) Standing up would signal the end of negotiations and thus render the option to rescind no longer valid.
